CALENDAR FEEDS
Private subscribed ICS feeds
Create Employee Feed instructions
- Select the employee whose calendar should be available.
- Click Create Employee Feed.
- Copy the Latest private feed URL that appears after the feed is created.
- Add that URL to Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, or another calendar app using its subscribe-from-URL option.
- The employee feed shows only that employee's permitted HR calendar items: assigned shifts, assigned calendar events, approved time off, attached projects or assignments, and location or attendance details.
- Subscribed calendars may take time to refresh because the calendar app controls when it checks the feed again.
Security and controls
- The feed URL is private. Anyone with that URL can view the feed until it is revoked or regenerated.
- Revoke stops the old URL from returning calendar data.
- Regenerate creates a new URL and makes the old URL stop working.
- The app stores a hashed feed token and does not use the database ID as the feed secret.
- This is not Google or Outlook login sync. It is a one-way private subscribed ICS calendar feed.
Subscribed calendars may take time to refresh depending on Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, or the calendar app reading the feed.
Anyone with a private feed URL can view that feed until the URL is revoked or regenerated.
